About The Lip Reading Academy
The Master's Lip Reading Academy for people with hearing loss. The Lip Reading Academy may be the first institution of its kind in the United States, began offering classes in Chattanooga TN in January 2007.
David Harrison , the director, was born hard of hearing and placed in special education classes at school. He has been lip-reading throughout his life. In 2006, David and his wife Cathy, a retired nurse, completed academic studies and were certified by the American Academy for Hearing Loss Support Specialists .
David and Cathy Harrison are missionaries serving under Silent Word Ministries, Inc. based in Trenton Georgia. They make their services available to any church that wants to help the hard of hearing in its congregation. David is available to speak at any civic, social, business or church function in order to help people understand the problems faced by the hard of hearing, and ways they can be helped.
The Harrisons have helped hearing impaired people regain confidence in their personal, business, spiritual and social life.
